Literature Text
I spoke to you, O sunny day -
an' it seemed my voice was as a cloud
that briefly shadowed your fine rays
in saying more than was allowed.
I sang of you, gave wings to words
and thought to win you with their flight
and finery, but such poor birds
seem stains upon your perfect sky.
And yet it seems you spoke of me:
your beaming smile dispelling shade;
a balm unto my fevered brain;
in praise of my fair minstrelsy.
And so, if clouds and rain must come,
they shall at night - when you are gone.
an' it seemed my voice was as a cloud
that briefly shadowed your fine rays
in saying more than was allowed.
I sang of you, gave wings to words
and thought to win you with their flight
and finery, but such poor birds
seem stains upon your perfect sky.
And yet it seems you spoke of me:
your beaming smile dispelling shade;
a balm unto my fevered brain;
in praise of my fair minstrelsy.
And so, if clouds and rain must come,
they shall at night - when you are gone.

Cheap and Tawdry Married Love
My mother cried when I married you.
Twisted up her brothel-keeper's mouth
and bawled-
'That girl's gone and sold herself too cheap.
...And after everything I told her!'
My aunt patted her hand
Slyly reminding her how bad the deal was,
Your poor job-prospects,
The tiny diamond on the ring
Your mother had given us
Because you couldn't afford to buy one.
I paid them no heed.
Smiling, I posed for the photos
Thankful I'd escaped.
Do you see me?
Standing there beside you
In your sharp suit and your Fagin smile.
I was innocent then,
I couldn't see the flames
But I could still burn...
Literature
Scars, yelling and tears
For every tear you cry
I'll shed two from my eyes
Every time you smile
My day becomes peaceful
When you run away
A part of me becomes missing
When you cut yourself
I cringe as scars rip into me
You happiness brings me peace
Your hugs my warmth
Your love my life
You smiles become my own
Your tears bring on my rainy nights
Your anger tears at my heart
Your screams cause me pains
Your fists bruise me
Rip into my flesh
Scream my ears to deafness
Curse me unto darkness
Break my heart till it's no more
Break my will
Destroy my happiness
Cause me pain
Make me cry
But in the end it's worth it
As long as I can make you smile
Literature
Death In Small Doses
You think it feels good
You think it feels nice
To pick up a razor
And give your arm a slice
The first time's o.k.
The second time's great
The third's even better
But the fourth can not wait
You think every thing's fine
So you start taking some chances
You start cutting new places
And begin receiving strange glances
"What could go wrong?"
"Nothing, who cares?"
But you keep getting weaker
And continue getting stares
You're feeling depressed
And you aren't sure why
You weren't when you started
But now you break down and cry
You know something's wrong
But you just can't stop
What started as a few
Has progressed into a lot
